New Drum Heating Rack System

SprayWorks Equipment Group unveiled its new heated drum rack transportation system at the SPFA Expo in Dallas. The stationary heated drum rack design allows for contractors to easily install the system in their mobile spray foam rigs and box trucks. The new heated drum transportation system features Hi and Low temperature setting as well as an optional insulated jacket. The optional insulated jacket is best used in extreme cold environments, long distant hauling and for those products that require 90+ degrees. The Drum Heaters allows contractors to maintain heat in the barrels overnight as well as having the option for a boost of heat on those cold days including products that require higher drum temperatures. The new Barrel Blazer drum heaters are constructed out of high strength aluminum framing making it easy and cost effective to ship. The Barrel Blazer Drum heaters heat your products from the bottom of the drum where it is being pumped from allowing you to quickly process products and in return slowly agitating
the drum. Run up to 6 drum units on 110V 20amp outlet. Used for open cell, closed cell spray foam and coatings.

The PMC PA series spray foam and coating machines will be available in two models. The PA-25-2000 and the PAX-25-3000.

The PA-25-2000 series spray foam machine is and air driven proportioner with and output of 25lbs/min and capable of up to 2,000PSI.

The PA-25-3000 series coating machine is and air driven proportioner with and output of 1.3 gal/min and capable of up to 3,000PSI.

The machine’s features a 7″ air motor , 7,500 watt heaters with the option of larger heaters. Weighing only 265lbs the PA series open frame design allows easy access to all of the major components. The PA and PAX machine’s also features state of the art reversing valve reversing the pump direction with out the need for electricity!

Another new addition to the PMC family is the PH hydraulic machine series. The PH series will be offered in four models. The PH-25-2000, PHX-25-3000, PH-40-2000 and the PHX-40-3500. The new generation PH models will feature outputs of up to 40lbs/min at pressures up to 2000 psi and outputs up to 2.5 gpm at pressures up to 3500 psi. The machines will be available in 220V optional 1PH or 3PH.

The PH-25-2000 and the PHX-25-3000 series will allow the customer to choose from 8Kw, 10Kw and 12Kw heaters with the capability of up to 310ft of heated spray hose.

The PH-40-2000 and the PHX-40-3500 will offer 15Kw, 18Kw, and 21Kw heaters to choose from. The PH-40 series spray foam and coating machine’s are capable of running up to 410ft of heated spray hose.

The newly designed PH and PHX are singled by factory aligned proximity switches and solid state relays making for a rapid reversing response with no moving parts. Another cool features is the stroke counter. The counter allows you to preset the strokes per gallon of the product being used preventing the user from accidentally running out of materials. SprayWorks Equipment Group in addition to the classic series proportioners from PMC will also be offering the option of the new generation PA, PAX, PH and PHX spray foam and coating machines in our Eco and Master series mobile spray foam rigs.

Generation “Classic” PH Series hydraulically operated proportioner being
introduced exclusively at the show. This series of machines will offer the
consumer a more rugged design to withstand the rigors of a contractor operation.
The new “Classic” PH Series is offered in four models ranging from outputs 25-40
lbs/min and pressures from 2000-3500 psi.

PMC is also introducing a
new more economical Air Operated proportioner with vertically aligned pumps. The
new lightweight (265 lbs) PA Series Air Driven proportioner for foam and
coatings features:

  • Open Frame Design allows easy access to all components for maintenance and
    repair
  • Individual “A” and “R” Hybrid Heaters
  • Re-settable Cycle Counter
  • Air Solenoid and Over Temperature Safety Shut-offs
  • Hose Transformer Tap Settings
  • Easy Access Inlet Filters

PMC GH-40 Spray Foam Machine Product Review

The GH-40 Proportioner from PMC is designed and built for the spray polyurethane foam and polyurea industry. Not to mention some specific two-component epoxy systems.

Primary Heating System

The machine is designed with two independent Primary Heaters with no internal
seals. Used for presetting manufacturers temperature product recommendations Each
Heater has Six Heating Elements known in the industry as (fire rods) rated at
1,250 watts each with (1,500 watts optional) giving the GH-40 machine a total heat of 15,000 watts or (18,000 watts optional) and the necessary control and safety components for their precise operation. The Primary Heater design allows a temperature differential (ΔT) of 90º F and material application temperatures of up to 190º F under normal ambient temperatures.

HoseHeating System

The GH-40 hydraulic machine is designed with a 5Kw Transformer that enables effective
heating of up to a total hose length of 410 feet. The heated hose system includes an innovative design in which a continuous braid tinned copper jacket is distributed evenly around the radius of the hose providing a uniform heating watt density and precise control of the material application temperature. This hose heating element design is extremely
resistant to fatigue failure. 100% circumferential coverage produces the most uniform distribution of heat available.

Double Acting Piston Metering Pumps

The double acting Pump Line is driven by a dual rod Hydraulic Cylinder. The in-line pump
system with opposed piston pumps provides a constant volume displacement and
guarantees uniform pressures in both directions of pump movement. Different sized pumps options allow for various volumetric ratios to be achieved (1:4 to 1:1 to 4:1) between the chemical components used in the process.

Stroke Counter

PMC’s stroke counter allows the user to track the gallons
of product being used.  Combine this
feature with the expected product yield fine tuning estimating and production
cost. For more information (See tracking your money in yield)

ISO Pump Lubrication System

Inspecting the iso pump lubricant reservoir on your spray foam or polyurea machine is often overlooked and should be part of a daily routine. Pump Lube forms a barrier between the ISO and the atmosphere. The lubricant will require changes pending the environment it is operating within. Typically every 3 to 4 weeks a gel formation occurs. This is due to moisture absorption by the pump lubricant. Another entity that occurs is that different types spray foam and coating machines pumps have some form of seepage when using isocyanate during operations by-passing the pump packing’s. This in return can eventually cause a thin film build up on the pump shaft creating damage to the packing’s. Early signs that the iso pump lubrication will need changing is its color darkens or contamination with the iso component turning into a milky white in color opposed to clear in liquid color. When checking the fluid another area of concern to pay attention to is the check valve attached in line of the pump lube suction hose. This can become clogged with geld material and can result in a plug the system preventing recirculation of the fluid. Taking a preventive maintenance step in conjunction with utilizing the re-tract / park feature on your spray foam machine will help extend the life of your pump and pump packing’s’. When changing the pump lube fluid on a PMC horizontal pump line. 1. Spray test until the Resin Proportioning Pump is positioned on the left hand side. Set the Pump Switch to OFF. 2. Remove the Lube Reservoir from its support, unscrew the Lid and remove the Check valve of the suction hose. 3. Empty the contaminated lube oil in a proper waste container and refit the check valve in the suction hose.4. Clean the reservoir, refill with lube oil, and screw on the lid and replace the reservoir in its support. Most spray foam and polyurea machines iso pump lubrication systems are auto-suction and do not require priming. Be sure to reference your operational manual for proper procedures and guide lines.
